Katie Holmes Plays The Blushing Bridesmaid

Making her way down the eastern seaboard, Katie Holmes hit up Long Island to shoot The Romantics. Also starring in the film: Josh Duhamel, Anna Paquin, Adam Brody, Elijah Wood, Jeremy Strong and Malin Akerman.

Holmes plays bridesmaid/best friend to Paquin's bride, The Insider reports. Coincidentally, today is Katie and Tom Cruise's third wedding anniversary, so...rarely the bridesmaid, that Holmes.

The film follows seven friends from college who reconnect at a wedding. Duhamel plays the groom who shared a romantic past with Holmes. Sounds very St. Elmo's Fire. Sort of. Maybe St. Elmo's Fire meets The Big Chill.
